The idea of this 'treaty'* is that all WHO member countries will agree to respond in 'lockstep' the next time there's a pandemic. The WHO will decide what constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) - and it doesn't even have to be particularly serious or deadly - and whatever measures it deems necessary will be enforced by every member country, within 24 hours.

This one organisation can order travel bans, lockdowns, masks, testing and vaccine requirements - in every country, for every citizen, all at the same time. If this document it passes in its current form - the WHO can essentially shut down the world within a day.

*They’re not actually calling it a treaty; they’re calling it a “convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response”.

Dutch MEP, Robert Roos is firmly against the treaty, for 3 key reasons:

1. It primarily serves the interests of countries like China and pharmaceutical giants.

2. We are giving away power to an organisation that cannot be democratically controlled.

3. The best approach to a pandemic is not the same everywhere.

Draft treaty as at Feb 2023. The Intergovernmental Negotiating Body will meet throughout 2023 and submit its outcome for consideration by the 77th World Health Assembly in May 2024.

At the Spotlight Conference held in Norway on 15th April 2023, Swiss Attorney at Law, Philipp Kruse spoke about the WHO’s ambition to establish new rules for its own nefarious purposes.

After giving an overview of the disinformation WHO has propagated and continues to propagate regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Kruse said:

“The cure (WHO) poses a bigger threat than the disease (COVID-19). And we cannot come to any other conclusion but [that] there is an intention to harm.

The IHRs and Pandemic Treaty are not just about COVID or the next pandemic WHO declares.  It’s about a permanent loss of control over all basic aspects of life: fundamental rights, sovereignty, health, business and privacy.  There will be no protection whatsoever against abuse of power as WHO will become a global dictator with no accountability."

On May 18, 2023, independent journalist James Corbett testified under oath to the National Citizens Inquiry in Ottawa on the subject of the WHO's looming global pandemic treaty, the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations, and the One Health approach that is being used to justify an even greater centralization of power in the hands of unaccountable institutions in the name of "global health”.

WHO are the WHO?

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus

Ethiopian-born Tedros has been the Director-General of the WHO since 2017 – re-elected in 2022 for a second 5-year term.

He graduated from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) with a Master’s in Immunology of Infectious Diseases in 1992. He is not a medical doctor and is the first person without medical qualifications to lead the WHO. He also had no global health management experience when he was elected (but he was friends with Bill Gates).

The D-G is a hugely powerful position because, although there is an advisory board, he alone has the power to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) - as Tedros did with Monkeypox. The majority of the board disagreed with declaring a PHEIC, but Tedros went ahead and did it anyway.

Some not-so-savoury things to know about him:

  • He is a member of the violent and powerful communist Ethiopian political party, Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), and served as the party’s Health Minister (2005-2012) and Foreign Minister (2012-2016).

  • In December 2020, American economist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, David Steinman, filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, calling for Tedros to be prosecuted for genocide over his alleged actions in Ethiopia. According to Steinman, Tedros “was a crucial decision maker in relation to security service actions that included killing, arbitrarily detaining and torturing Ethiopians.” He goes on to accuse Tedros of supervising the “killing, and causing serious bodily and mental harm to, members of the Amhara, Konso, Oromo and Somali tribes with intent to destroy those tribes in whole or in part.”

  • In 2022, Ethiopia's government wrote to the WHO's executive board, asking them to investigate Tedros for "misconduct and violation of his professional and legal responsibility", claiming he spread harmful misinformation and "compromised WHO's reputation, independence, credibility."

  • Tedros helped indebt Ethiopia to China, with over $13 billion borrowed during his tenure as Foreign Minister. China has become Ethiopia’s largest trading partner and, according to The Hill, is now called East Africa’s ‘Little China’ because it has become China’s bridgehead to influence Africa and a key to China’s Belt and Road initiative there

  • After he become the WHO’s chief, he wanted to appoint Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe as a WHO goodwill ambassador.
